ONLINE LEARNING

Each innovator will go through a seven module online learning program using the moodle platform which will be interspersed with three convenings (face to face meetings) to meet with other innovators and mentors.

Innovative Service Development

The Innovators will get an opportunity to apply their learning from the leadership course to develop and design an innovation project to bring new service/change in their respective libraries to meet the needs of the communities they serve.

Networking

Each cohort will participate in three convening’s (face to face meetings) where the Innovators will meet face to face with their counterparts, their mentors and other stakeholders besides meeting a host of experts in this field.

The goal of the programme is to develop leadership skills of Public Library professionals as Library Innovators and to position libraries as a critical community Hub for driving community development through information and knowledge services.The key objectives are to promote a network of emerging public library leaders, foster collaboration and partnerships among stakeholders across India for a vibrant public library movement in India.INELI India program being implemented by M S Swaminathan Research Foundation intends to build leadership capacity of 40 Public Librarians as “Library Innovators” across India over a three year period in two cohorts.

The International Network of Emerging Library Innovators (INELI) is the global library leadership capacity building programme supported by the Global Libraries Initiative of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.The overall goal is to build library workers as Innovators and Leaders to position libraries as critical community assets to drive community development through knowledge and information services.INELI India is one of the seven regional INELIs that have been initiated in August 2015 exclusively for Indian public librarians.
