Abstract

Fresh leaf and wood samples of Mastixia arborea collected from wild tree and essential oil
extracted by hydrodistillation process and the compounds were identified using GC-MS analysis. A total 38
compounds from leaf and 9 compounds from wood were identified among which β-caryophyllene (15.53 %)
occupies the higher composition in the leaf oil and 2- propenamide (30.05 %) in the wood oil. The leaf oil has
higher percentage of sesquiterpenoid compounds (78.8 %).
