Abstract

For over two decades M S Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) has been in the forefront in taking Information and Communication Technology (ICT) enabled development activities to the rural communities through Village Resource Centres (VRCs) and Village Knowledge Centres (VKCs). In 2003, most of the activities were brought under the aegis of the Jamsetji National Virtual Academy. The VRCs and the VKCs use both
traditional and modern technologies to provide information/knowledge to rural women and men with an objective to improve their socioeconomic lives.
