Wayanad district, a hilly terrain of Kerala, could be considered one of the wettest regions of India with
an average annual rainfall of about 3000 mm. The district is the abode of different tribal communities,
of which Pania, Kurichiya, Kurumba, Kattunaikka and Adiya are the dominant ones.
